What we do

Workplace first aid courses that come to you

The premise is simple. Rather than asking your team to travel to a training centre, we send a qualified instructor to your workplace. They deliver the full accredited course — practical CPR on manikins, scenario exercises, theory and assessment — all within your own building, at a time you choose.

Under the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, every employer must carry out a first aid needs assessment and ensure their employees have access to adequate first aid provision. That means having trained first aiders with current, recognised certificates — not just a first aid box and good intentions.

On-site delivery solves the scheduling problem that makes many businesses put off their training. There is no arranging lifts or public transport, no lost mornings getting to an external venue, and no having to close a department to run a rota. You pick a date, we come to you, and your whole team qualifies together.

Our workplace first aid courses are accredited by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB), and our Paediatric First Aid Level 3 and Mental Health First Aid qualifications are awarded by Qualsafe Awards, an Ofqual-regulated awarding body. Certificates issued under both routes are accepted by the HSE, by Ofsted for EYFS settings, and by most employers' insurers.

Transparent pricing

One flat rate — for up to 12 people

Every course is priced per session, not per delegate. The more people you put through in one go, the lower your cost per head. Here is how it works out for our most popular course.

EFAW — Emergency First Aid at Work

from £495 + VAT for the whole session — up to 12 people, one day, at your premises.

  • 4 people trained: £123.75 per head
  • 8 people trained: £61.88 per head
  • 12 people trained: £41.25 per head

Contrast that with a public open course, where you typically pay £80–£120 per person before factoring in travel time and the productivity lost while staff are out of the building for a morning. For any team of four or more, on-site training is almost always the more cost-effective option.

No surprise invoices. If travel needs to be factored in for a remote location, we state it upfront so you have a complete picture before you book.

What the price includes

  • Full course delivery at your premises
  • All manikins, training first aid kits and course materials
  • Practical assessment throughout the session
  • FAIB-accredited certificates valid three years
  • Written confirmation for your health and safety file

Not included: the room (you provide that) and any travel surcharge for genuinely remote sites (agreed before booking).

Tip: if only one or two people need training, a public open course may make more sense. Ask us — we will always give you an honest steer.

Why choose us

First aid training that fits your business, not the other way round

On-site delivery removes every common objection to getting your team trained. Here is what that means in practice.

Zero disruption — we come to you

No travel time, no early departures, no one arriving late. Your instructor shows up at your door with everything they need. Staff are back at their desks the moment the session ends.

Training tailored to your environment

An on-site course lets your instructor run scenarios using your actual workspace — your kitchen, loading bay, open-plan office, or assembly area. The training is relevant in a way that a public venue simply cannot replicate.

Transparent fixed pricing

One price covers the whole group — up to 12 people for the same fee. No per-head surprises, no add-ons for materials or assessment. You know the total before you commit.

Dates that work around your rota

Early starts, evening sessions, weekend dates, or training split across two shifts — we are flexible because we understand that the biggest barrier to workplace first aid courses is finding a slot that works.

Fully accredited — no compliance compromise

Our courses are accredited by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) and, where applicable, by Qualsafe Awards (Ofqual-regulated). The certificates carry the same HSE standing as any large national provider's — the accreditation is what matters, not the brand name.

Practical, hands-on from start to finish

First aid is a physical skill. Our instructors spend the bulk of each session on practical exercises — CPR on manikins, real bandaging, scenario-based practice. That muscle memory is what saves lives; lecture slides alone do not build it.

How it works

From enquiry to certified — four straightforward steps

We keep the process simple so your time goes on running your business, not managing a training booking.

1

Tell us your requirements

Use our contact form or call 0808 157 0123. Tell us which course you need, roughly how many people, and your location. If you are unsure which course is right, just describe your workplace and we will guide you — no jargon, no upsell.

2

Receive a clear, fixed quote

We come back with a single price covering everything. No per-head charges, no hidden travel extras. We agree a date that suits you — and confirm the booking in writing so you have a paper trail for your health and safety records.

3

We deliver on site

Your instructor arrives with manikins, training kits, and course materials. Your team gets a full, practical, accredited course in your own building. Scenarios can reference your actual layout, hazards and equipment, making the training stick.

4

Certificates issued, compliance ticked

Everyone who qualifies receives their FAIB-accredited certificate — valid for three years. Keep a copy in your health and safety file. We will remind you when renewal approaches so your cover never lapses by accident.

Who we train

Trusted by teams across every sector

On-site first aid training suits any organisation where training the whole team together makes more sense than sending people one by one to an external venue. We regularly work with teams in:

Offices & professional services

Meet your statutory duty to appoint qualified first aiders without taking staff out of the office for a day. A cleared meeting room is all the space you need.

Construction & engineering

Higher-hazard sites typically need a full FAW-qualified first aider from a small number of employees. On-site delivery at the compound means zero lost travel time for your crew.

Nurseries, schools & early years

EYFS regulations require at least one full Paediatric First Aid certificate holder on the premises at all times. We deliver PFA Level 3 and school-specific EFAW/FAW on training days and holiday periods.

Care homes & healthcare settings

Basic Life Support, CPR and paediatric first aid tailored to a care environment. Annual refreshers to maintain CSTF-aligned competency for regulated staff.

Retail & hospitality

High footfall, varied shifts, and public-facing environments need robust first aid cover. We fit around your rota — early mornings, late slots, or between your trading hours.

Manufacturing & logistics

Large dispersed teams in higher-risk settings require solid first aid cover across all shifts. On-site delivery removes the production gap that off-site training creates.

UK first aid law — plain English

Do you legally need first aid training at work?

The short answer is yes — in almost every workplace. The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 place a duty on every employer to provide adequate first aid provision for their employees. The 2024 update to HSE's L74 guidance also requires employers to consider employees' mental health as one element of that assessment.

The law does not set a fixed number of first aiders. Instead, it requires a first aid needs assessment — a structured look at your workplace hazards, headcount, shift patterns, and distance from emergency services. HSE provides illustrative guidance:

  • Low-hazard workplace (office, shop, library) — one appointed person for under 25 staff; one EFAW-qualified first aider for 25–50 staff; one FAW-qualified first aider per 100 staff above that.
  • Higher-hazard workplace (construction, manufacturing, warehousing, chemicals) — a qualified first aider from as few as 5 employees; one FAW-qualified first aider per 50 staff for larger teams.

These are benchmarks, not legal minimums — your own needs assessment may indicate more or fewer. What matters is that you can demonstrate you have thought it through and provided adequate cover.

Not sure what your workplace needs? Get in touch and we will walk you through a needs assessment at no charge. It only takes a few minutes and removes all the guesswork.

FAQs

Everything you need to know before you book

What is on-site first aid training?

On-site first aid training means a qualified instructor travels to your workplace — your office, warehouse, school, construction site, or any other premises — and delivers the full accredited course there. Your team trains in familiar surroundings with zero travel time, and you pay one fixed price for the whole group of up to 12 people rather than per person. The course content, assessment and certificates are identical to those issued at a public training centre.

Is on-site training just as good as a public classroom course?

Yes — and in several respects it is better. The accreditation, syllabus and certificate are identical whether the course runs at a public venue or in your building. The advantage of on-site delivery is that your instructor can reference your actual environment — your hazards, your building layout, your first aid kit locations. Scenario exercises feel real because they happen in the space where an emergency would actually occur. That context builds confidence and helps the training stick.

How many first aiders does my workplace legally need?

There is no fixed legal number. The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require every employer to carry out a first aid needs assessment and provide provision that is "adequate and appropriate" for their workplace. HSE publishes illustrative guidance — for example, one EFAW-trained first aider for a low-hazard office of 25–50 staff, or a FAW-qualified first aider from as few as 5 staff in higher-hazard environments — but these are guidance bands, not legal minimums. Your own headcount, working patterns, site layout and risk level all affect the right number. Get in touch and we will help you work it out.

What does the course price include — are there hidden charges?

The stated price covers delivery of the full accredited course at your premises for up to 12 people, all course materials, manikins and first aid training equipment, continuous practical assessment, and FAIB-accredited certificates for everyone who qualifies. There are no per-head charges on top. If your location requires a travel contribution, we agree this with you upfront — there are no surprise additions to your invoice.

How quickly can you deliver the training?

In most cases we can confirm a training date within a few working days of your enquiry. If a certificate has just lapsed and you need cover urgently, tell us — we will do our best to prioritise your booking. Availability varies by region and time of year, so the best approach is to contact us with your preferred dates and we will get back to you promptly with options.

What do we need to provide on the day?

You need a private room large enough for your group to practise CPR comfortably — a meeting room, training room, or cleared open-plan area all work well. One chair per learner, access to a writing surface for the theory element, and nearby toilets. We bring everything else: manikins, first aid training kits, dressings, course materials, and assessment paperwork. Parking or vehicle access nearby is helpful so your instructor can bring equipment to the door.

Do you cover the whole of the UK?

Yes. We deliver on-site first aid training across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Whether your premises are in central London, the Scottish Highlands, rural Wales or Belfast, we can arrange a qualified instructor to come to you. Include your postcode when you enquire and we will confirm availability and any travel detail at the quote stage.

Are your certificates HSE-valid and accepted by Ofsted and insurers?

Yes. Since October 2013, HSE has accepted all recognised systems equally — both Ofqual-regulated qualifications and FAIB-accredited courses meet HSE requirements under the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981. A larger brand name confers no additional compliance benefit; the accreditation route is what counts. Our workplace first aid certificates (EFAW, FAW and requalification) are FAIB-accredited and valid for three years. Our Paediatric First Aid Level 3 and Mental Health First Aid qualifications are Qualsafe Awards (Ofqual-regulated) and are accepted by Ofsted for EYFS settings.

Is on-site training cheaper than a public open course?

For groups of four or more people, on-site training is almost always more economical. A public course charges per delegate; our flat session rate covers up to 12 people. Factor in travel time, fuel or rail fares, and the productivity lost while your team is out of the building, and the cost difference widens further. For one or two individuals, a public open course may still be the right option — we will always give you an honest comparison rather than push an on-site booking that does not make financial sense for your situation.

What happens if someone does not pass the assessment?

Our assessment is continuous and practical throughout the session, not a written exam at the end of the day. Your instructor observes, coaches and supports learners throughout — additional practice is built into the session for any skill that needs more time. The vast majority of people who attend and engage fully leave with their certificate. If a learner needs further support, we discuss the options with you after the session.

Ready to get your team trained and compliant?

Tell us your course, your location and roughly how many people — we will send a clear, fixed quote within one working day. No obligation, no jargon, no per-head surprises.
